Maintaining your military boots is of utmost importance
From a very long time, military boots are considered to be inevitable footwear in armed forces. If you belong to the armed forces, then you probably know how important boots are. When you are in a difficult terrain with the aim of accomplishing your mission, you expect your boots to give you protection and comfort. Any pair of branded military boots that you buy will last longer only if you maintain them well.
Being in the armed forces, you would be working in different environments such as desert, forest, rocky places and so on. The modern boots, which you wear, help you to be on continuous mobility and keep your feet dry for long hours. Lots of debris would definitely get accumulated in various parts of your military boots and hence it's imperative that you clean them so that your boots are ready to be worn next time. After regular usage, you cannot expect your brand new boots to be as good and shining as they were before you started using them. Proper maintenance can keep your boots in good condition at least for a certain period of time.
Cleaning is something that is detested by most of them but improper maintenance of your military boots will not make them last for a longer period. If you own a pair of boots that do not help you in keeping your feet dry for a longer period, then you need to set them aside for drying. When you plan on to start with the cleaning chore, find out if the boots that you own are waterproof or not. If the debris that is stuck inside your boots is too hard to be removed, ensure that you use a brush with stiff bristles to clean it away. Usually dirt and other small particles tend to get settled in the soles. The bristles in the brush can be used to remove the small stone particles and other debris.
If you prefer to use soap, do not just use any kind for washing. Only the soap that is meant for cleaning your military boots needs to be used. In case you use too much of water or any soap, there are chances of your boots getting deteriorated sooner than you expected. In case you prefer to use warm water to clean your pair of boots, then make sure you leave them aside for drying. Usage of a blow dryer is not recommended to dry your military boots. If you want your expensive boots to last long, ensure that you follow the tips or guidelines given online for cleaning your boots. This way you can be sure that your boots will stay in a good condition for quite a reasonable duration.

How do you replace the dust boot on the front forks?
The bike is a 96 Honda Shadow VT1100C. The dust boots are dry rotted but there isn't any buildup of oils so I think the seals are still good. Please help.
if the seals are ok just take the forks out and slip on new fork boot put the forks back on the bike and presto
