Smile Big With Invisible Braces
(Words of experience from a Teenage Survivor Of Metal braces)
For any teenager to have a braces is a big event. I grew up in Suffolk County on Long Island and as a pre-teen; I became very self-conscious due to a pronounced overbite that happened when my permanent teeth grew in. I was teased quite often due to my nickname which i got during my 5th and 6th grade. Due to my silent nature it was like a torture to me.
As I grew up little by 10 years teeth straightening became important to me and I used to follow my mother everywhere begging her even while mopping. Any how I wanted to have dental supports. When I was 12, after several years of pleading, my Mom, finally took me to see an Orthodontist. It was very disheartening when doctor told me to wait for more 3 years , till 15.
At age 15, in the world of nicknames, I traded "Bucky Beaver" for "Tinsel Teeth" and went through high school with heavy metal brackets and rubber bands and a variety of creative names. My braces come off after completing my first year of college. That was truly a great and liberating time for me. I hadn't had a confident smile with straight teeth since I was a little kid. It was great to not have the very heavy social burden of buck teeth or braces. On that day I felt like a bird.
Since my experiences with dental braces there has been much advancement in the art and science of straightening teeth. Several years ago a new system of invisible braces were developed for adults called Invisalign. Its been designed as per one's impressions of tooth to have perfect fit. Even though my experience with getting them was a very long 4 year period in my life, the resulting self confidence was transformational. The result of patience is sweet so despite clear or unclear braces wait as the new energetic smile and glory is worth every second!

How much does Invaslign braces/retainers cost in UK?
I have gaps in my teeth and am 34 I don't want a big heavy brace, and would really like invisalign if I could afford it. Anyone know how much they cost?
