The humane control of foxes in the UK is legal. Foxes are afforded protection under The Animal Welfare Act 2006; however, they are still a pest can can be dealt with as such.

Urban foxes live in very close proximity, unlike their 'country' cousins.

As urban foxes live in such close proximity, disease such as sarcopic mange is pass on at an alarming rate.

Foxes with sarcopic mange spend alot of time incessantly scratching which may lead to open wounds and blood poisoning. All of this will accumalate to a very painful death.

Internal parasites is another serious problem. Worms are passed onto cubs via the vixen's milk.

These worms include stomache worms and lung worms. 

Foxes will have internal parasitic worms from birth to death.

Unlike domestic pets, foxes are not given worming medicine or any form of vaccinations.

Repellants may work for a short periods, but foxes will soon become accustomed to them.

Only approved substances can be used to repel foxes. Creosote, washing up detergent, diesel, engine oil etc is NOT an approved fox repeller.

Always read the lable and follow the instructions if you are going to go down this route.

A professional fox controller is usually called in having exhausted all other attemts to prevent foxes.

Fox control is unlike conventional pest control, such as rats, mice & cockroaches.

In order to humanely control foxes, a firearm is required. When I say firearm, I am not refering to an AIR RIFLE.

An air rifle would only injure and maim a fox. This would be extremely cruel and would contravene The Animal Welfare Act 2006. No animal or pest should be subject to pain, suffering or cruelty.

The most effective and safest way to control nuisance urban foxes coming onto your property, having exhausted proofing and housekeeping measures is trapping.

Traps are baited with cat food or other food matrix.

Traps need to be inspected at least twice, every 24 hours.

As mentioned above, it may contravene The Animal Welfare Act 2006 if the fox is caused unnecessary stress, suffering or cruelty.

Foxes do not belong in the countryside no more than the belong in the city. By releasing an urban fox in an alien environment would not only be cruel, but the released fox would not know where food, water, shelter or predominant predators may be.

As most urban foxes suffer from sarcopic mange and other ailments, releasing these animals elsewhere would only aid the spread of disease.

Farm livestock, poultry and game birds would be at risk of attack by 'dumped' foxes. The release fox may only end up being shot by a gamekeeper or farmer.

I need some help fox trapping?

Whats the best bait anyone has used for fox trapping thats had most luck on. And for coyote and for bobcat?

using a dirt set is good, using a leg trap in a open area, find a high spot, put a leg trap in a stake it, but bury it slighty in the dirt, then dabble fox urine around it, the animal will sniff around and hopeflly eventually step on the pad and set off the trap.
