Aurigan and German Silver bits?
How are these different(and by different I mean how do they effect the horse) differently from steel bits?
German Silver has more magnesium and tin (what we call nickle). It's very strong and has a pretty sheen, but can be drying to the horse's mouth, but not as bad as stainless steel.
Aurigan has more copper in the mix, and that is supposed to give more moisture to the horse's mouth by having a slight electrolysis going . It is stronger than copper and wears longer, so that is supposed to be an advantage over copper.
