This type of glove acts well as a weapon when a police officer must engage in punching. Knuckle gloves are also the best type of glove to wear when one must operate heavy machinery.
Another type of glove worn by police is the FASTAC glove, which is intended for wear when the hands may be exposed to flames, extreme heat, or friction. These police gloves are usually made from cow leather. They are designed with an added layer for protecting parts of the fingers and the entire palm, as well as extra leather wrapped between the thumb and index finger. Police gloves that are popular with officers who transport prisoners and who work in correctional facilities are known as gladiator gloves, which are a form of patrol gloves. These gloves are seamless, with leather that extends from the palm and then wraps around each individual finger. They are also typically slash resistant and offer a good amount of fingertip sensation.
The various types of police gloves can come with a great number of features. For example, they may contain material in the inner lining which is slash resistant. The gloves can also be breathable and tactile, which are perfect if you need to easily move your fingers, a decent amount of touch sensation and for wear in the warmer summer months. Just like there are gloves for wear in the warmer months, there are also gloves to be worn on patrol during the cold winter months, with plenty of insulation to keep the hands warm. Additionally, there are police gloves that have multiple layers of protection to make them resistant to fluids.
There are a countless number of types of police gloves that are specifically designed to the various duties and activities engaged in by law enforcement personnel. Wearing the right glove, which corresponds with the particular activity for which it was designed and intended is important to keep police officers safe while carrying out their duties.

glove box gun for car?
i'm looking into buying a gun for the glove compartment of my car for security. the #1 on my list is a Taurus .38 special but i'm open to suggestions. also considering a baby Glock.
also, is it true that Georgia recently changed the laws to where, without a concealed weapons permit, you can carry (almost) any loaded handgun (almost) anywhere in your car so long as it's in the holster?

In Georgia you may keep a loaded firearm in a closed compartment of a vehicle without a concealed pistol license, if you are eligible for a concealed pistol license. Your car is considered an extension of your home.
On May 14, 2008 Governor Sonny Purdue signed into law a bill which removed public transportation, state parks, and restaurants that serve alcohol from the list of specially-defined areas prohibited even with a concealed carry license.
Your Taurus is a good choice. I personally like the Smith & Wesson Model 60, in either .38 Special or .357. I also like the old faithful Colt Detective Special which is also .38 special. These are glove box guns, not carry weapons. When you get your CCW, pick a .45 for carry.
