Body armor equipments, storage equipments, communication tools like phones, iPods, and pagers, office stationery items, and even first aid kits are police equipment depending upon the job that they have. The police force, and its duties, has no existence without perfectly designed, technologically advanced equipment.
When people like smugglers, robbers, or terrorists succeed in harming people and jeopardizing normal life, the question is often asked how they are able to outwit law enforcement agencies so easily. Part of the answer might be economic situations or ideological commitments, but it is sometimes suggested that antisocial elements are often in possession of sophisticated performance equipments. While police equipment is always of crucial importance, in this context, right equipment gains a larger than life importance.

Equipment used by a certain contingent of policemen will vary from that used by another contingent, depending upon the duty on which they are deployed. Batons, guns, grenades, knives, handcuffs, holsters, chemical sprays, tasers, and forensic kits are the police equipment that is invariably used by policemen going to subdue a mob or control a crime scene. Even in the use of this equipment, rules on usage could vary from country to country or state to state.
A Taser is a police equipment item, which works by giving an electric shock that temporarily incapacitates a person by affecting his muscle functions. Tasers come in many models and are sometimes used by private individuals as well. Those Taser models that are part of police equipment can also function in what is known as 'drive stun' mode when the Taser does not incapacitates a person but causes significant pain.
Though tasers are definitely less lethal than guns, because of the unique functionality of tasers, there were controversies going on regarding the allowable extent of its usage as a part of police equipment, and about defining the situation when Taser usage can be considered apt. While rules of certain places allow the use of tasers if the criminal or crime suspect is resisting arrest, other places allow its usage only if there is substantial threat to an individual's or a building's safety, or if there is risk to someone's life. In places where the rule is the latter, use of tasers as police equipment is likely to be quite limited.
Lots of body armor material and storage material like head gear, bullet proof vests, night vision goggles, groin protectors, tactical boots, and storage pouches for ammunition, magazine etc. are necessary police equipment. Other objects that can be included in the list are communication instruments like phones, radios, and pagers; forensic kits; instruments necessary for collecting samples of blood or other body fluids; and first aid kits. Even routine office equipment like notebooks, paper, pencil, and paperclips can be considered police equipment under certain circumstances.

what is the differences between a level 1, 2 and 3 holster ?
keep hearing about level 2 and lever 3 holsters what is the difference? I thought level 3 - was for loaded magazine, empty chamber, and level 2 was loaded magazine loaded chamber -- is this right -- then whats level 1?? -- or do i have it backwards ?

What you are thinking about is Condition 1, 2, and 3 ...
Condition 1 is round chambered, hammer cocked, and safety on.
Condition 2 is round chambered, hammer resting on firing pin (uncocked), and safety on.
Condition 3 is empty chamber, hammer down, and safety on.
With respect to holsters, you meant Security Level 1, 2, and 3. Basically, this is the rating system used by holster makers to indicate the level of difficulty it would take an unauthorized person (read suspect) to draw a gun from another person's (read police officer's) holster.
I think Level 1 is the easiest type of holster for someone to snatch a gun from, while Level 3 is the most difficult. The levels require the user to practice the "little tricks" necessary to draw their handgun from the holster.
