Reception

The Nikon D700 has been tested by many independent reviewers and has generally received high marks. It achieved a top ranking in the DxOmark Sensor ranking and is currently ranked fifth behind the Nikon D3, Nikon D3X and two medium format cameras.

The built in intervalometer (timer) is used for extraordinary low lit movies even in 1080p.

Kodak "Retina Automatic III" rangefinder users: any of you on here?

I just picked up one of these at a thrift store for $25. It appears to be in almost new condition! The meter is working but I don't know if its accurate. I just looked up a lot of information about these but if you have PERSONAL experience with one of these I'd like to hear about it - the good, the bad, and the ugly (insert Ennio Morricone music here!). This camera is at least 47 years old and I swear again - it looks NEW. Any tips on operation of this camera - what to do and what to avoid? I have not yet put a roll of film through it - looking forward to that. Thanks!
Ran a roll of film (Kodak Gold 200) through it - not processed. Left entire roll on "Automatic" for the aperture setting. Only problem I thought was VERY hard shutter release lever with gear-grinding sounding on the upstroke of it. The rangefinder mechanism seems to be accurate from checking distances on the lens barrel.
