How to Use Binoculars

From bird watching to watching Sports in a stadium, binoculars help people enjoy their pastime more effectively. Binocular brings closer by magnifying far-off objects but you must know how to you use them correctly.

Instructions to Use:

1. Put the binocular strap around your neck so that it saves the binocular to fall down suddenly.

2. Adjust the barrels of the binoculars; all you need to do is move the barrels closer together or further apart as you hold the binoculars up to your eyes. If you have adjusted the binoculars correctly, you should not see a black "border" when you look through the eyepieces.

3. Locate the central focus wheel, usually in the middle of the two barrels of the binoculars.
Move the wheel slowly as you look at a particular object in the distance to get the best image for your eyes. You might need to re-focus from time to time from far off object to close object.

4. Fine-tune your viewing even more if you have a diopter focus mechanism on your binoculars. Not all binoculars have this focus element, which helps compensate for the difference in vision that you might experience in each of your eyes. The diopter focus adjustment wheel is usually on the right-hand barrel eyepiece.

5. Clean your binoculars after using them. A soft cloth is sufficient for the body of the binoculars. Treated tissue paper used to clean cameras and eye glasses is safe for wiping the lenses. Store binoculars in their carrying case when you're not using them.

Instructions to Clean:

1.Blow dust off each lens with a can of compressed air.

2.Clean off remaining dirt and grease from each lens with lens cleaner and a lens cloth. When   cleaning, begin at the center of the lens and swirl towards the outer ends.

3.Scrub crevices of the case with a soft-bristle toothbrush.

4.Wipe the casing with a slightly damp cloth.

 

Tips & Warnings

* Lens caps should used while the binocular is not in use. Take the lens caps off (to prevent condensation), and use your binocular case to keep your binoculars clean and protected.
*Cleaning lenses with harsh cleaners or rough cloths will scratch the lens.

1.Set the view for the distance between the pupils(Eyes). Bend both the barrels until you can see one circle of view. It is called interpupillary distance (IPD).

2.To focus the binoculars, close your right eye and see an object with your left eye. Rotate the center focus wheel until the iObject is sharp and clear.

3. Open your right eye and close your left eye. Rotate the right dioptre (eyepiece) until the object is sharp and clear.

4.Both eyepieces are now in focus. You just need to use the center focus wheel to focus another object.

5.New user will have to repeat these steps to achieve alignment and focus the object.

Tips & Warnings

*For zoom binoculars, while at the highest magnification, move the zoom lever to increase or decrease the power to align binoculars.
*If you wear eyeglasses, fold down the rubber eye-cups for comfort and viewing ease to align binoculars.

How come binoculars are always made in two lenses?

why not make them so that you look trough a wide lens instead that covers both eyes?why the hole separate one for each eye thing??

I use to sell binoculars. I figured the following out just by "playing" with them. First you focus with left eye,using the center focus wheel on the left side.(this is the non-adjustable side)(close your right eye) then you turn with your right hand, the right eyepiece until the right eye is in focus ( your left eye is closed doing this).

Now your binocular is adjusted for your eyes. When viewing all you have to do is turn the center wheel.
Note: that the adjustable right eye peice has markings, so you can return the right eyepiece to the correct place for your eyes, should it get moved.
