Is there any way to build a fire inside a modern (nylon) tent?
My tent has a rain fly so with it open I can let smoke out but I'm wondering about the fire hazard
There's no safe way to make a fire inside a tent... but there are other ways to heat a tent besides using fire. Coleman makes some supposedly tent safe heaters. And I've heard of another one that goes outside the tent but pumps the hot air in... the Zodi tent heater, which claims to be the safest ever. But regardless of which heater you use, make sure it won't get too hot (ie. won't melt your tent, sleeping bag, stuff, etc.) and that your tent is well ventilated.
