Finding Quality Sights Can Make All the Difference
The most important thing to keep in mind is to find a quality sight for your shotgun. These types of sights run on battery power. They run a single, illuminated dot that you can view through a sighting tube. Some red-dot sights also feature advanced reticles and other features. IAC/Hawk/Norinco 982 rear sights?
I need to know if they are interchangeable with the Remington 870 sights. Someone is offering to sell me one for $145, but it looks like the original ghost ring sights fell off (he says he bought it like that.) Anyway, if I get it, I'd want to be able to put some sort of sight on the rear, and I can't find any original factory sights so I need to know if the 870 sights will work.
I wouldn't count on the sights using the same mount holes and any sight you get may not line up with the front sight correctly, which is pretty fixed. I happen to own an IAC Hawk 982 and part of my rear sight fell off. I tried adding a saddle mount for a sight, but it didn't fit. Finally, I just called their warranty number and they sent me a new rear sight, so that's what I would try. Since you are getting it second hand maybe they will sell you one.
