Poster Printing Tips for Your Day Spa
Encourage people to visit your day spa with the use of full-color posters. Poster printing is an effective way of producing volumes of prints for your business. Make use of posters to provide information about your personal care treatments like massages and facials. Here are some poster printing tips that will bring more people to your day spa:
How to Make Your Day Spa Posters
• Use High-Quality Photos: If you’re going to print a digital photo into a large format, choose a high-quality and high resolution photo with 300 dpi. Bring out the best of your photos by using free photo enhancing software like GIMP and Picasa. You can also use artwork and graphic design pieces in designing your posters. Eye-catching posters can bring in more customers.
• Ask for Free Digital Proof: Digital proofs will let you see the actual image of your printed outputs. However, the proofs contain trim lines and safe zone lines. Cutters will cut on the trim lines, leaving the essential text and images lie within the safe zone. You can also check the spelling and grammar for your day spa poster copy. Approve the digital proof before proceeding to the printing process.
• Choose Quality Stock: Make use of quality stocks like 10 pt. Cardstock Gloss, 10 pt. Cardstock Matte, 100 lb. Paper Gloss, and 100 lb. Paper Matte. These stock materials will enhance the quality of your prints’ design.
• Pick the Right Font: Writing content for your day spa posters requires strong and readable fonts. Do not use fonts smaller than 8 points because small fonts are not readable. You must also avoid using fonts with too many curves and curls. It is advisable to use fonts with colors that are in contrast with your poster background.
Promote your day spa services with the use of full-color and eye-catching posters. Online printing can help you turn your digital photos into a stunning poster.

How would I go about mounting a large poster print of a painting?
I have purchased a large poster print of a painting as a gift, and have found it way outside of my budget to have it costume framed. I can purchase a frame that is slightly larger than the print at a hobby shop, but I do not know what materials to use or how to go about mounting the poster in an archival safe manor. any suggestion would be appreciated.
Again Jay has missed the point of framing it in archival safe way. Unless you have the proper training to frame the poster in a safe archival way just give the poster as is and provide a gift certificate for part of the purchase of professional framing with a qualified framer. One never dabs glue and sticks a poster to cardboard. That is just not right. Go to ppfa.com to find out more about proper framing and to find a qualified framer in your area. There is really no good way to get cheap with important framing projects. Just as most people would not pull their own teeth - conservation framing requires a qualified professional for the best results. Knowledge and experience is key.
If you must do some of the labor yourself you will not save much. Buy the readymade frame instead of a custom frame. You will need to have the matting cut to fit the poster and frame dimensions. You will need glass ( uv filtering if you want to protect against fading). Acid free foamboard for the backing and proper hinging is a must. No glues dabbed here and there. You may opt for acid free drymount tissue but the process needs to be done by the framer in a drymount press. To finish the piece once matted and drymounted and you have the glass, clean the glass well set along side of the matted poster. Close it like a book leaving it face up. Check for dust and unwanted debis. Put the frame on and turn the whole thing upside down. You will not have a point driver as framers do so small brads or push point will work to secure the work in the frame. Do not skimp. Every 2"- 3" apart or so is better than way too few. Screw eyes or loop hangers with wire is best rather than those terrible nail on sawtooth hangers for hanging hardware.
