Seat Belt

Harness your Seat Belts and Fly High!
Flying high in the clouds is a fun game when you are a child. In fact till you actually feel the fear factor of flying seeping in, you find the whole experience of being miles above the ground simply amazing! However, once you realize the grave dangers that you could be subject to while flying, you would never dare to doze off while onboard a flight. Yet with the inventions of seat belts harnessing system, now you could very well safe-guard yourself on-board and put all your fears to rest.
The seat belts are a great invention to help you secure yourself against any kind of sudden collision due to an unexpected sharp movement. They help to reduce any kind of injury that could be caused to the passengers on board. There are three major benefits of using the seat belts:
- If you have a seat belt on, you can save yourself from any kind of external injuries caused by sudden hitting onto the hard interiors of the aircraft.
- Again in case of any unforeseen movements, the internal organs are saved from hitting hard against the ribcage or skull inside the body. This helps to save you from a vast extent of internal injuries – especially in case of a crash.
- Finally, it helps to spread out the load of the occupant by stretching out during such crash.
In short, with a seat belt on, you can consider your chances of making it through any bad condition fifty times better. If you are in any doubt at any time during the flight, always make sure to use this extremely useful safety device. Over the years, several tests have helped the seat belts to prove their metal and have been pronounced to be life-savers even in head-on collision situations of various automobiles.
The seat belts are so important that even law has made it compulsory for all occupants inside the aircraft to use one while flying. In fact we even have a special seat belt designed especially for the kids so as to ensure better safety for the little ones while on-board. You should never hold on to the kid in your lap or use the same seat belt for both of you. It is always safer to use the single seat belt for the kids as this will help them better in case of any emergency.
Remember that precaution is always better than cure. Hence never fly within an aircraft without the seat belt on. After all your life is worth it!

Fly high and fly right with the seat belts for that ultimate safe and sound ride! It is never worth the risk to take to the skies without seat belts for your protection and well-being.
How does a seat-belt help in reducing the impact of injury due to accidents?
I mean, a person is stuck to his/her place then how does that person move? Don't you think it may actually be more dangerous if one wears a seat belt while driving? Because one can move easily to comfort zones if not wearing a seat belt.
I know all the car safety experts recommend wearing a seat-belt, so obviously my logic is wrong. But what is the scientific reason in wearing a seat-belt?
Your "comfort zone" description may be misleading you about the safety of, simply, "feeling comfortable."
Comfort is a realtive thing, but the extreme pain of a seriouos injury is anything BUT comfortable.
The fact that seatbelts are designed to keep the rider firmly against the bottom and back of the seat means that if someone needs more comfort, then the seat should be adjusted to accomodate. If a driver were allowed to "move," easily to a comfor zone, then he would move more during an impact. And THAT can spell disaster.
The point of newer car design is that the CAR takes and absorbs more of the impact. The driver should absorb less. In a collision, there are THREE separate impacts. 1. When the car hits an object. 2. When the car stops, the passengers tend to keep going. (momentum) The second impact is when the passenger hits the interior of the stopped car. 3. When the body stops after hitting the inside of the car, the internal organs want to keep moving. (momentum, again) When the body stops, the organs hit rib cages and other, more squishy things.
By keeping the body firmly strapped in place, seat belts minimize step #2, above. The car can, then take up much of the impact by crumpling, and deploying airbags, which minimize step #3.
Do you know what, specifically killed Princess Diana? She was NOT wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. She hit the back of the seat in front of her, which broke some bones, but, what killed her was impact #3. When SHE came to a sudden stop against the seat, her heart continued and was, literally, torn from it's place. She survived the crash, but doctors could not reattach and repair the torn arteries.
