why are todays modern muscle cars lacking compared to back in the days?
i will use some examples to help get across my point. a brand new mustang gt only cranks out something like 300 horsepower and maybe? 400 pounds of torque. the charger and challenger are in similiar ranges. the corvette is a mean monster, but you have to shell out a pretty penny to get it. look at some 70's eldorado with the "500" big block caddy engine. at least 450 horsepower and over 500 pounds of torgue. i understand that todays cars are more advanced in safety and comfort features, but they dont keep up with what makes a muscle car, well muscle. they have come this far to not meet the power ,but only boost more safety and better handling... correct me if im wrong, but doesnt it take balls to put some of the stunts you do in old eldos, mustangs, impala ss's, 442's, gtos, continentals, gran torino's etc...?

Forget taking a bone stock 1969 Mustang on a skidpad compared to today's Mustang. Tire technology alone means that today's car outhandles yesterdays.
Oh and as much as I love the 1970-75 Eldos and their big block engines, those monstrosities cant get out og their own way on the freeways. They drift all over the road like a windblown leaf, and take 3 weeks to bring to a stop from 70MPH. I would love a 1975 Eldo convertible though
