Sks Dragunov
AK74 Vs. Dragunov; Which one to buy ?
I already own SKS and Mosin Nagant in different flavors but I don't have any AK style gun system. As AK 47 is illegal in CT, I've two choices, either go with AK 74 ( strange but it's legal ) or with the Dragunov. I'm not professional hunter or competition shooter but I enjoy the range shooting and I like to collect guns. So what do you guys suggest is a better buy ?

Depends on what you are looking for. The Dragunov is something to consider, however the United States no longer allows the importation of true Russian Dragunov's which means what we are usually left with are knock offs at the reasonable prices. The knock offs do not have the same quality, but they are functional rifles all the same. If I were to buy a rifle between the two I would favor the Dragunov with a leopold scope. I believe for target practice and pure fun, it is better to have a reliable rifle scope and better accuracy through the Dragunov. I have not fired a Ak 74, but if it is similiar to a 47, I find the rifle to be satisfactory in performace, but the accuracy definitely needs work past 150 yards. (or maybe it is this shooter!)
